For the past 7 years, the headquarter of We Simplify the Internet in Toronto, Canada has made our top 5 marketing predictions for the upcoming year. We look at the predictions of the past year, grade ourselves and look at what we believe will come in the future.
Evaluating our predictions from last year, we were dead on the mark for some, had some swing and misses on other!
Let’s take a look at how we feel we did.
Last year we predicted the steady growth of ecommerce and continued remote working. While this was very much true we had some problems in both. Supply chain have been bottled up and consumers had to wait much longer for their product then normal.
As for the remote workforce, around 80% of workers want to work remotely while a much less number of business owner feel the same way. There seems to be a problem in communication and feeling of connection between the two.
Most workers feel more productive at home and that they work harder than when they reported to an office. However, they are missing the comradery of their fellow colleagues.
The other predictions of continued virtual events and new tools in the digital marketing field ring true. However, many people are missing the networking events and business meetings.
